Perfect Steamed Rice (No-Fail) Recipe

Rice is by far one of the trickiest food to cook due to its time and temperature sensitivity.

Slightly under-cooked rice doesn’t give you a nice bite, while slightly overcooked makes it all mushy and not the desired texture.

Here is a no-fail delicious recipe for perfectly cooked steamed rice, you’d like to make again and again and enjoy it every time.

Ingredients

  1. Jasmine Rice – 1 Cup
  2. Water – 2 Cups
  3. Cooking Oil or Unsalted Butter – 1 Tablespoon
  4. Salt – 1/2 Teaspoon (or to Taste)

 

Method

Step 1. Rinse/wash the rice a few times to get the starch out. Drain it using a wire sieve.

Step 2. Take a shallow cooking pot and add the rice to it.

Step 3. Add water to the pot and heat it over a medium flame.

Step 4. Add butter or cooking oil and salt to it and give it a gentle stir.

Step 5. As it starts to boil, lower the flame to low, close the lid and leave it for 15 minutes

Step 6. Turn off the heat with the lid closed for another 15 minutes

Step 7. Open the lid and fluff the rice gently with the help of a fork and voila delicious perfectly cooked rice is ready.
